There are all sorts of over the counter and prescription strength suppositiores available to treat the symptoms of vaginal yeast infections. However, numerous women have claimed that these treatments generally don’t work and that using your own homemade remedy can actuallly be more effective. Listed below are several homemade suppositories:
Tea tree Oil has anti-fungal properties. It can be used in a homemade suppository in two different ways. The first way is to combine it with coconut oil (the coconut oil becomes a solid when frozen). Place the combination of coconut and tea tree oil in plastic wrap. Then, using the plastic wrap, mold the mixture into the size and shape of over the counter suppositories. Store this in the freezer until ready to use. The second method of applying tea tree oil in a suppository form uses a tampon. Soak a tampon in a water and tea tree oil solution. It is recommended to apply lubricant to the tampon first so that it does not absorb so much of the solution that you are unable to insert it. Do this to times a day, once in the morning and once at night. Leave the tampon in for at least one hour.

Probiotics are known to block the growth of fungus. They are found in certain yogurts (plain sugar free) and are used to treat vaginal yeast infections. To make a suppository using yogurt soak the tampon in plain sugar free yogurt, insert once in morning and one at night.
Boric acid (Borax) has also been known to treat yeast infections. Boric acid is a mild antiseptic and has anit-fungal properties. It can be applied to a tampon and then inserted. Some women advice against using too much because of a slight burning sensation. Pregnant women, children, and infants should not use Boric Acid.
Garlic is also known for having anti-fungal properties and can be easily made into a suppository. There are two different ways to do this. First a paste can be made out of garlic cloves, shaped into the form of a suppository and frozen until needed. This should be inserted until dissolved. Another way to make a suppository out of garlic is to wrap a garlic clove in cheesecloth and insert. This should be left inserted for at least an hour.

Vinegar is known world wide for anti-fungal and anti-bacteria properties. This can be used in a suppository like others mentioned above. Dip a tampon in a vinegar and water solution, there is no need to absorb a large amount. Do this at least two times a day and leave in for at least one hour. Apple Cider vinegar has been known to work especially well.
As with all homemade and homeopathic medicines one should always check with their doctor before attempting at home treatments.
